Health Intersection Event - Navigating the Blogosphere in Serious Disease Areas On April 27, 2007, Weber Shandwick's Healthcare Practice in San Francisco hosted a PRSA Health Academy Intersection Event, Navigating the Blogosphere in Serious Disease Areas, at Myth Restaurant. Blogs on serious diseases are fast becoming an important and undeniable media for PR professionals in healthcare. However, rather than the objective reporter PR professionals are accustomed to working with, most serious disease bloggers also suffer from the disease they write about, potentially creating a far more complex relationship. Moderated by Tim Marklein, executive vice president and general manager of Weber Shandwick Northern California, Derek Gordon, vice president of marketing, Technorati; Jeremy Pepper, director and social media strategist, Weber Shandwick; and Amy Tenderich, author of the book Know Your Numbers, Outlive Your Diabetes and the blog Diabetes Mine.
